The Sela Iconic Cajon with Ziricote playing surface is a true game changer for percussionists, combining three instruments in a single cajon. The interchangeable drum heads, known as ions, are located on the sides of these innovative cajons. Each ion has its own unique percussion sound. The cajon comes standard with Cuban ions and Turkish ions. Three additional versions are available as options: Guinean ions, Kenyan ions, and Peruvian ions. Cuban ions: The Cuban drumhead, inspired by Afro-Cuban percussion, is handcrafted from 100% natural goatskin. Each head is unique in thickness and color. For greater flexibility and durability, we recommend treating it with vegetable oil. This allows the sound to be tailored to your individual playing style.
Turkish Ion. Inspired by Turkish percussion, the Turkish Ion features a blue or green synthetic head that is resistant to moisture and weather conditions. It is very lightweight and should be protected from sharp objects. Its thinness ensures high responsiveness and strong sound projection with powerful midrange and bright highs. It is particularly suitable for the "Turkish playing technique."
