The Atacama Crash 14″ from the Soundscape Series by Turkish Cymbals is inspired by the Atacama Desert, a vast plateau in South America, located west of the Andes and considered the driest desert in the world. This extreme dryness is also reflected in the sound character of this cymbal.

The cymbal is thinly crafted and – apart from the bell – has been fully hand-hammered to the edge. This creates an extremely dry and dark crash sound, with very little overtone resonance and a fast decay.

These characteristics make the Atacama Crash ideal for precise playing, as it allows for clear stick articulation without dominating with excessive sustain or volume. Perfect for acoustic performances, studio use, and all situations where control and expression are paramount.
